The Province of Alberta and union members reached a deal that ended a year-long battle for better pay and working conditions.

On March 16, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, CUPA, representing education support staff, reached a deal with the Alberta government.

Edmonton and Fort McMurray ratified the agreement first.

On March 19 Calgary members voted to end the strike, with over 90 per cent in favour. With the agreement that the workers will resume work tomorrow.
