One dead after car crash

A Calgary man was left dead after a car crash. 

The accident happened on Feb. 2. CPS is currently investigating to determine whether speed or impairment were factors in the collision. 

CPS reports that the accident happened around 7:35 a.m.

A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a woman in her 30s, containing a male passenger, was travelling southbound on Deerfoot Trail S.E. Approaching the interchange with Anderson Road S.E. , the vehicle is believed to have continued straight and entered the median, police say. 

The front passenger side of the vehicle struck a light pole, causing the removal of the front passenger door. The male passenger was then ejected from the car. Police report that he was dead on the scene.

The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
